Carmax is a scam, please reconsider getting a car from carmax. They lie to you. Carmax Auto Fianace is also a scam as well and are unprofessional. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM CARMAX!
Paid off a car at Carmax they don't report regularly to the credit bureau, I paid off my 2013 Hyundai Genesis in 6 months and for almost 2 months going on 3 they haven't reported my car being paid, it's a shame to see consumers have to suffer over petty corporate rules, here is a case of a company getting their money ahead of time and still damaging a persons credit, I'm still in disbelief that they have received over 20k in cash and are taking months to process it I haven't even received my title yet carmax is a joke and must be practicing something illegal if you have any Carmax reps on here who can rebuttal publicly so I can give times and dates so that who ever reads this review knows how bad your company can be incompetent fools who take 20k cash and then take months to recognise it in your systems and then report it
This is the worst place you could ever purchase a vehicle. They charged me over $5000 in hidden fees. They start harassing you before your payment is late. And they are not up to date with how you make payments. BOTTOMFEEDERS!
On 8/10/16, I called CarMax to let them my payments would be late because I had been in and out of the hospital. I let them know that the account would be paid up as soon as I was out of the hospital and home. I was told that they'd give me a call if any issues arose. On 9/5/16, I was admitted back into the hospital with no way of calling them. I received no phone calls. On 9/9/16, my car had been repossessed. Despite my best efforts at communicating, CarMax repossessed the car and fined me for it. The very same day I went into labor with no way to get to the hospital suddenly because CarMax didn't receive $270.00. My labor was an hour long and my son was almost born on the sidewalk outside of a birthing center. CarMax put my life and my son's life in danger over a petty amount of money. Not to say any amount would justify the situation. To make matters worse, when I did call to get everything straightened out and the car back I had to speak with several different people on several different occasions, telling my story over and over and over. I eventually did speak with a manager who assured me that he would call me back. I'm still waiting for that call. I am now owing another $600.00 in repossession fees on top of an already high car loan. I will never use CarMax or suggest CarMax to anyone ever. It's not worth the risk.
I bought grate car from car maxs. I got no trouble with car and love car. Since I am imiigrant they gave me 36% APR on my car . I went to my bank and they lowered it to 7% after I put down 22k on it. Car maxs try to took advantage of me since I cannot understand what they saying to me. I'm not a punk and won't get cheated out of dollar.
