Horrible experience, horrible company. Will bad mouth your firm every change I get to anyone who wants a pet.
Barbra by far provided the best sales experience i have encountered. My friend who came just to support actually decided to buy a puppy as well after seeing how satisfied I was. They were a little higher than expected but they also offered alot with the purchase of my puppy.
I loved Perl and. The staff were very perfessiona, friendly and walked us through the process off buying and carrying for our new dog Nacho. Good luck Lindsey going into the military. Thank you all at Petland.
Long story short it is obvious they are aware of these fees and origination charges that add up to 25 or 30% of the final cost of the bill. Someone where along the line the company made a choice not to represent this and decided deception was the best way to profits instead of treating the customer right. I worked in a client service roll at a finance company, trust me, predatory sales and lending like this is implemented by design of the mangers.
I am giving them one star sadly because i can't give them a negative rating. This store has to be one of the worst pet stores in the country, Not only did they overcharge me for a ferret (sold to me for $285, in other petlands they are $180),i was not aware the ferret sold to me was sick 2 days after i had bought it! He started with a cough which i wasn't alarmed since ferrets cough once in a blue, but after a couple of days the poor ferrets cough worsened. After only 4 days of purchasing my pet he would have episodes of cough attacks throughout the night in which sounded wet and dry at the same time! I had to take him to the vet less than a week after i purchased him! which added on roughly another $100 to my bills. I had also purchased another ferret from another petland for $180 (They ripped me off) 3 days later since i know they are playful pets and i did not want him to be lonely when i wasnt home, less than a week later that ferret contracted the same symptoms as the ferret i purchased at this Petland. A week after the ferret i purchased at this petland was taken to the vet for the concerning cough he started to have diarrhea so i had to take him to the vet YET AGAIN... A week after the diarrhea and cough, i was scared and heartbroken when my ferret started vomiting all over his cage and whimpering while running up and down i had to take him to the vet in a rush... Not only that now my other poor ferret that i bought a couple of days is presenting the same exact symptoms and even vomited as well, now im here stuck with 2 SICK PETS and Staggering Vet bills that i did not expect when buying a new family member, my pets have still not fully recovered and the one i purchased from this location has problems with his weight he loses and gains weight constantly and eats a lot less than the other. When i tried calling them to speak to a manager, "a manager was not available" even though they had stated they have many managers and leave you on hold for a long time when you request to speak to only a manager. Once you speak to a manager whom i spoke too named Alex, They tell you they do not handle customer complaints and refer you to "Pet Solution" which should more accurately be renamed to Pet Problems... Not only are they sarcastic and rude, they do not follow up with you whatsoever and always contradict themselves, they try to do anything possible to look for an excuse to relieve themselves of their responsibility of selling HEALTHY PETS. Do not purchase from this Petland they will rip you off and sell you sick animals! i wish i had read the reviews before even entering this hellhole, I should have ran when one of the employees explained to me of a supposed "warranty" a ferret has the employees exact words were "if they die you can ask to get an autopsy and you can come in and choose a new one" , I found that comment to be alarming but payed it no mind since i had already fallen in love with the ferret. These people do not care about the animals in the store, the ferrets display was disgusting they had all the droppings in a pile that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in days. Ironic how their slogan is "petland pets make life better" that is clearly not the case.
Very deceptive sales staff. Was promised 100 dollars off a puppy that had not sold in nearly 2 months. I did not think I would need to double check the paper work (which is about 30 pages of documents to sign with prices listed all over the place) to actually see if they would follow through. When I got the final billing invoice at a later date I noticed no such discount was actually applied. I have no written proof of this so I cant get them to correct it (unless they want to do the right thing...doubt that will happen) I chose to do third party financing and when they discuss the up front price, they do not inform you (unless you read the small print in the middle of about 20 pages) that their are over 50 dollars in petland fees and roughly 150-200 dollars in origination fees.
We purchased 2 dogs from Petland and one of them ended up not feeling so well (not a sickness but a genetic defect that Petland was unaware of) . Emily and her staff went above and beyond to help us out. I would definitely recommend them and will definitely go back when we decide to add another pet to our family. The Vet they use for the animals at Petland is amazing also. Emily was always available to help when needed and they definitely went above and beyond to help us out.
